Celebrated by both the Horde and the Alliance, Brewfest is a time to enjoy the fermented fruits of the harvest: pretzels, cheese, and booze! The competing breweries Thunderbrew, Barleybrew, and the Ogres, all come together outside of all the major cities in a bid to outdo each other with their special ales, meads, and beers. Brave adventurers are invited to sit back, take a pull, and sample the finest wares these brewers have to offer!
During Brewfest, players can acquire the title Brewmaster, collect fun mounts like Swift Brewfest Ram, and get epics like Coren’s Chilled Chromium Coaster. Major quest hubs are located outside of Ironforge and Orgrimmar.
Brewfest, based on Oktoberfest, runs from September 20 through October 5. Our very own Miyari put together an excellent guide for the holiday, covering every achievement there is as well as the series of dailies the event offers.
This year, trinkets and other items have been upgraded to ilevel 365 and are definitely worth checking out!

Brewfest Quests!
-
Welcome to Brewfest!
Available from Tapper Swindlekeg or Ipfelkofer Ironkeg: awards a single brew and opens up the souvenir quest chain. -
A New Supplier of Souvenirs or A New Supplier of Souvenirs
Start: Driz Tumblequick or Pol Amberstill
End: Blix Fixwidget or Belbi Quikswitch
Looks like the Brewfest souvenir makes its return this year, after disappearing in 2010. Please note that you must first complete Now This is Ram Racing… Almost. or Now This is Ram Racing… Almost. before this quest will become available. Next, speak to either Driz Tumblequick or Pol Amberstill to receive your voucher, and turn it in at your faction’s Brewfest token redeemer for your very own ?? Brewfest Stein. Fill it up at any keg with brew, or just beat things upside the head with it during the rest of the year. -
Chug and Chuck! or Chug and Chuck!: Awards 10 Brewfest Prize Token
Start & End: Bizzle Quicklift or Boxey Boltspinner
This quest is very easy; simply accept the quest, loot a Complimentary Brewfest Sampler from the nearby tables, target Self-Turning and Oscillating Utility Target and use the brew. Do this five times, then turn around and accept your tokens.
-
Catch the Wild Wolpertinger! or Catch the Wild Wolpertinger!
Start & End: Glodrak Huntsniper or Goldark Snipehunter
For this quest, you must use the provided Wolpertinger Net to capture 5 stunned Wild Wolpertinger, which can be found running around and outside the Brewfest main festival camp grounds. In order to see the Wolpertingers, you must either be incredibly drunk off any alcoholic beverage or wearing the Synthebrew Goggles, available from the questgiver by request. Turn in the quest to be rewarded with a Wolpertinger of your own, encased in a Wolpertinger’s Tankard. -
Pink Elekks On Parade or Pink Elekks On Parade
Start & End: Glodrak Huntsniper or Goldark Snipehunter
For this quest, players must travel to the specified locations (Horde players will have to visit Eversong Woods, Mulgore and Tirisfal Glades and Alliance players will have to visit Azuremyst Isle, Elwynn Forest, and Teldrassil) and use the provided Elekk Dispersion Ray to “slay” three pink Elekk hallucinations at each location. In order to see the Elekks, you must either be incredibly drunk off any alcoholic beverage or wearing the Synthebrew Goggles, available from the questgiver by request.
Ram Racing Quests
-
Now This is Ram Racing… Almost. or Now This is Ram Racing… Almost.: Does not award tokens, but unlocks the other ram riding dailies.
Start & End: Ram Master Ray or Neill Ramstein
This quest is intended to introduce players to the fine art of ram riding. Upon accepting this quest, Ram Master Ray or Neill Ramstein will mount you upon one of his riding rams and give you the Ram Racing Reins, which you must use to control the speed of your ram. You have to maintain certain speeds for 8 seconds each, which is indicated not only by the movement speed of your ram but by colored buff icons on your player. Be careful not to travel too fast, or your ram will get fatigued and slow down severely. You can lower (or completely reset) your ram’s fatigue counter by stopping at barrels of apples which can be found on the ram riding paths. -
There and Back Again or There and Back Again: Awards 10 Brewfest Prize Token
Start & End: Ram Master Ray or Neill Ramstein
This quest is a little challenging. You are once again granted a temporary ram mount that lasts 4 minutes and you must use the Ram Racing Reins and your new-found skill of ram riding to receive and deliver kegs of brew between the goblins. You must travel down the path, minding your speed and fatigue, and you will be thrown a Portable Brewfest Keg by either Bok Dropcertain or Flynn Firebrew. Simply return the keg to the questgiver three times to successfully complete the quest. I highly recommend moving as quickly as possible and stopping momentarily at every barrel of apples to insure you do not reach 100 fatigue. After completing this quest, the questgiver will allow you to help him out one more time per day. -
Every 18 Hours: ‘Do you still need some help moving kegs from the crash site… ?’: Awards 2 Brewfest Prize Token per turn-in
Start & End: Ram Master Ray or Neill Ramstein
This isn’t exactly a quest, per se, but is a very good option for accumulating more Brewfest Prize Token. This “quest” is available after successfully completing There and Back Again. Simply speak to the NPC again and offer to help him out again. The questgiver will give you another ram with which you must retrieve and return more kegs, awarding 2 Brewfest Prize Token per loop and 25 additional seconds. You can do this as many times as possible until your ram mount expires. You can only offer to help him once every 18 hours, and only after completing the initial quest.
Daily Quests

Bark for ________!: Awards 15 Brewfest Prize Token
Start & End: Cort Gorestein / Ja’ron or Daran Thunderbrew / Becan Barleybrew
This quest can be started at either of the rivaling breweries and may only be completed for one brewery per day. Horde players can choose between Bark for Drohn’s Distillery! or Bark for T’chali’s Voodoo Brewery! and Alliance players can choose between Bark for the Barleybrews! or Bark for the Thunderbrews!. It does not matter which brewery you choose to bark for, and you can even choose a different one each day (though don’t tell the other guys)! For this quest you are yet again given the ram and Ram Racing Reins: this time you must run throughout your capital city, visiting different designated checkpoints within a 4 minute time limit. This quest can be rather challenging, as there are no apple barrels to renew your ram’s fatigue so it’s best to keep a steady (albeit annoyingly slow) pace as you travel throughout your city. Once you reach the fourth location, provided your time, many players opt to cancel the ram buff and simply mount on a regular epic mount to go return the quest. -
This One Time, When I Was Drunk… or This One Time, When I Was Drunk…: Awards 10 Brewfest Prize Token
Start: Dark Iron Mole Machine Wreckage
End: Bizzle Quicklift or Boxey Boltspinner
This quest can only be picked up after a Dark Iron invasion on the Brewfest camp (every 30 minutes). Simply pick up beer from the nearby kegs and attempt to hit the invading Dark Iron Dwarves until they depart. Once the dwarves have been defeated and retreat, a piece of Dark Iron Mole Machine Wreckage will remain on the ground that anyone can loot to obtain this quest. You can then turn the quest in and receive your tokens.
Brewfest Loot
Quests completed during Brewfest will award Brewfest Prize Token which can be redeemed for items by speaking to either Blix Fixwidget or Belbi Quikswitch, located at the main Brewfest camps outside of Orgrimmar and Ironforge, respectively. These items can also be purchased during Brewfest from the Brew of the Month club vendors found inside the two cities, Ray’ma or Larkin Thunderbrew. -
Finally, the Brewfest Pony Keg places a keg on the ground that anyone can use to retrieve a Brewfest Brew. This is not to be confused with Brewfest Keg Pony, added in 2011.
-
In addition the Brewfest items for sale by the token vendors, there are also a variety of food/drink sellers found in the camps, selling wine, cheese, sausage, bread and (of course) booze to the festival patrons.
Coren Direbrew, The Grim Guzzler and the Dark Iron Dwarves
Brewfest veterans surely remember the exploits of one Coren Direbrew, found deep inside Blackrock Depths‘ Grim Guzzler bar. This year, Coren Direbrew has been buffed to level 85+ and is back with new loot.
You can queue up to kill Coren Direbrew using the Dungeon Finder tool at level 84. Upon killing Coren Direbrew for the very first time, he will drop a quest item, Direbrew’s Dire Brew, which starts the quest Direbrew’s Dire Brew (Alliance version). Turning in this quest will award 40 Brewfest Prize Token.
On your first kill of each day, you will earn Justice Points and also be awarded a Keg-Shaped Treasure Chest, which has a chance to contain awesome items. You will be awarded 19 86 at level 85, as well. You can get only one Keg-Shaped Treasure Chestper day, so there is no longer a point to farming the boss once you don’t need any of the trinkets he drops. Simply queue up and kill him once per day per character for your chance at the mounts or other rare items.
Coren’s Loot
Coren Direbrew himself drops epic quality (item level 365) trinkets which are similar to those sold by the Molten Front vendors. These trinkets are unique, so they can be used one after another after a normal “use” delay of 20 seconds. Once again, these items cannot be disenchanted, so no free Maelstrom Crystal.
Coren also has a chance to drop +510 stamina trinkets that summon the Brewmaiden who will heal your party or the ***** Brewmaiden who will chuck beer at your enemies! In addition, both maidens can be /wave’d at to receive free brew!
The first time you defeat Coren Direbrew each day, you will be awarded a Keg-Shaped Treasure Chest. This treasure chest has a chance of containing Coren Direbrew’s non-trinket drops (y’know, the awesome stuff). You can even get more than one of these items in the same chest, or less happily, a duplicate item you already own.
Remember you will be rewarded just one chest daily, so that’s only one chance per day at all of the more rare drops.
Brewfest Achievements
Brewfest is more than just standing around dressing funny and drinking grog! In the midst of the unruly behavior and excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages, there’s a title to be earned–Brewmaster. For many players, completing the Brewfest achievements will finally earn them What A Long, Strange Trip It’s Been, so expect to see even more Violet Proto-Drakes flying around.
-
Brewmaster or Brewmaster
Complete all of the Brewfest achievements except Brew of the Year, Drunken Stupor, Strange Brew and Disturbing the Peace and you will be awarded the player title ‘Brewmaster’. That’s right, with the addition of Brew of the Month, players are no longer required to spend an entire year waiting to complete the Brew of the Year achievement for What A Long, Strange Trip It’s Been. -
Brew of the Month
For this achievement, you must purchase a “Brew of the Month” Club Membership Form for 200 Brewfest Prize Token from either Blix Fixwidget, Ray’ma, Belbi Quikswitch or Larkin Thunderbrew at the main Brewfest camps or inside Orgrimmar or Ironforge. This will entitle you to receive a special brew every month, for members only. You will be able to purchase more of a specific month’s brew from a Brew Vendor located inside Orgrimmar or Ironforge. -
Brew of the Year
For this achievement, you must drink one of each of the 12 beers featured in the Brew of the Month club. You will receive a new brew at the beginning of every month and will only be able to purchase that brew for the duration of that month–be careful you don’t miss one. This achievement will take a full year to get, but thankfully it is no longer required for the Brewmaster achievement. -
Direbrewfest
For this achievement, you must travel to the Bar in Blackrock Depths and defeat the Dark Iron dwarf Coren Direbrew. -
Disturbing the Peace
For this achievement, you must purchase and wear three pieces of Brewfest clothing (any holiday hat, boots, and chest), get completely smashed from the alcohol of your choice and /dance in Dalaran. -
Does Your Wolpertinger Linger?
For this acheivement, you must complete the quest Catch the Wild Wolpertinger! or Catch the Wild Wolpertinger! and obtain the Wolpertinger’s Tankard. Enjoy your cute and creepy pet! -
Down With The Dark Iron
Defend the Brewfest camp from a Dark Iron attack and complete the quest, icon name=side_alliance]This One Time, When I Was Drunk…[/icon] / This One Time, When I Was Drunk…. The Dark Iron attacks happen roughly every half hour at either of the main Brewfest camps, located outside of Orgrimmar or Ironforge. Once you have ‘defeated’ the Dark Iron attack, simply loot the Dark Iron Mole Machine Wreckage which will start the required quest, which can be turned in nearby. -
Drunken Stupor
This achievement is just a Brewfest version of Going Down?, so any strategies/locations specified for that will apply. Just remember to get really, really intoxicated beforehand (ie. “completely smashed”) and try to survive the fall. -
Have Keg, Will Travel
For this achievement, you can now either own a Brewfest mount (either dropped by Coren Direbrew or obtained via tokens in 2007) or simply change one of your existing mounts into one by using Fresh Brewfest Hops, which can be purchased from Brewfest vendors for a mere 2 Brewfest Prize Token. You can also use Preserved Brewfest Hops, though these will cost more Brewfest Prize Token. -
Strange Brew or Strange Brew
For this achievement, simply sample all of the beers available from your faction’s Brewfest vendors. These beers can be purchased at the Brewfest camps found outside of any major city.
Horde players will purchase brews from T’chali’s Voodoo Brewery Apprentice, Drohn’s Distillery Apprentice and Gordok Brew Apprentice.
Alliance players will purchase brews from Thunderbrew Apprentice, Barleybrew Apprentice and Gordok Brew Apprentice. -
The Brewfest Diet
For this achievement, simply sample all of the foods available from the Brewfest vendors.
Horde players will purchase food from Bron, Agnes Farwithers and Uta Roughdough.
Alliance players will purchase food from Keiran Donoghue, Anne Summers and Arlen Lochlan. -
A Brew-FAST Mount
This achievement is a Feat of Strength, so it will not award Achievement Points or count towards any other achievement progress. This achievement is awarded for obtaining either of the epic Brewfest mounts tied to Coren Direbrew in Blackrock Depths – either the Great Brewfest Kodo or Swift Brewfest Ram. Good luck!

89+ only
A post from one of the Blues confirmed that Coren Direbrew is now level 90 and requires level 89 to queue.
Does one have to be 85+ to do this? I am leveling my monk (Figures right?) and would like to do them 😀
@bsk54, I think you can do most of it except for Coren Direbrew
