My favorite zone is Feralas. The rolling, green hills seem to exude forest beauty. There are a handful of locations that have a shaft of light that comes down through the tree branches. The resulting light pattern on the ground bekons as if there is magic nearby. This zone is more 3-d than most; it is hilly and you catch different horizons as you follow the paths. I’ve always found a certain peace among the trees.
My favorite zone…hmmm, cant quite nail it down to just one. i am one of many who enjoy following all the story lines so i love exploring Azeroth. I know i must choose a favorite something so here it is. My favorite dungeon in levels 1-60 is The Molten Core. Back when we was all trying to be the best, we all had to spend all of our time either raiding, or looking up strategys and tips. The thing i disliked the most about it….u and your guild would raid the place every week…but, I think i spent 2 months in there before i won a roll on the piece of gear that dropped rarely that seemed everyone needed. I still go in there from time to time to farm low level materials and to just look around remembering ”back when raiding was raiding’ lol
My most favorite 1-60 Zone is easily Redridge Mountains. From your first real chance at learning how to swim, to the surprise attack from the orcs as you go up the path, this zone gives you the best variety for leveling in the early game. Since Stranglethorn Vale is so expansive, questing involves alot of travel time. Redridge, however, is nice and compact. With beasts, orcs, gnolls, murlocs, whelpings, spiders, and one big fat pig, this zone gives the best experience in learning the game and perfecting your toon’s particular skill set.
My favorite zone would have to be Tanaris, pre Cataclism. Nothing like spending weeks in Gagetzan while running all the quests and hitting Zul’Farrak a couple dozen times to help level.
Ahh the old days. 🙂
I really like the rocket ride at the end of the Eastern Plaguelands!
Thanks
Dugi
Loch Modan,
As it has an amazingly cozy feeling and the forests of my real life country which inhabits an feeling of security and beauty. Only sad thing is that the dam burst and that amazingly beautyfull lake got destroyed with the cataclysm.
Thelsamar does as well have that little cozy forest village feeling, and I think it is absolutely beautyfull.
Yours

I Loved Hillsbrad Foothills. I think because my heart would always start pounding whenever I seen a level ?? Alliance running after me on thier mount. Then when i finally hit 60 I was the one hanging out at the Southshore flight master ganking lowbies. Getting on a guilds to be camped list was a symbol of pride.
i have to say the barons is my faverit area to quest in when ever i think abought playing the game i think of the long times that i spent questing theair. i love the background songs that are played in that area as well they still resinate in my head wen i think of playing the game.
Stranglethorn Vale has always been a zone close to my heart, I used to grind there veeeeeery often with my Night Elf Rogue and some of my other characters.
Stranglethorn Vale is by far the best area in the game, where else can you fight so many different critters, ranging from Morlocs to Dino’s, cats to gorillas, Orc’s to Humans, if that’s not enough you can spend every Sunday fishing in an effort to get the best “at the time” fishing pole in the game or even take up a little PvP in the arena, oh and don’t forget Zul Gurub, can’t even think of how may times it took me to finally get through that one at lvl. It has a little bit of everything anyone could want, beaches, jungle, rivers, caves and the such. To this day I still love going there, and I must admit with Cata it even got better.
My favorite 1-60 lvling zone is the Ghostlands because my favorite race, blood elves have a really super easy starting zone and their second zone is one of the harder questing zones for that level. It may not be that fun but it prepares me well for the future zones
I like the Darkshore area because of the chain quests and the beasts.
My favorite 1-60 zone just got to be the new stonetalon mountians, i just love the epic quest line with the ranking rewards that are there, also the quests in the zone is just epicly designed, with the ending quest ”You are dismissed!!” Also the npc conversations that are there are just awesome, i just cant describe how much i enjoy questing in this zone, almost each quest brings something new, rewarding and fun. Especially the Reward system, the more quests you complete the higher rank you get and the better equipment you can buy.
Well it was a hard choice to make as i love almost every 1-60 zones after cataclysm.
I have to say my favorite is Winterspring. I live in a very warm section of the U.S. and really enjoyed playing in the snow and on the ice lakes. There were two especially memorable quests that I found really unique, challenging, and fun. The first quest is where you use the Empowered Dreamcatcher to close 5 Arcane Tesseracts within Mazthoril. This wasn’t so bad except you had to go all the way to the end of the cave defeating different creatures at all the other Arcane Tesseracts along the way where you then had your final quest to slay Umbranse the Spiritspeaker. The Arcane Tesseracts and Umbranse had such wonderful displays of power and lightning it just makes you fall more in love with the game all the time.
Thanks for your Guides and all the work you put into them to make them the best! It has really helped to make the game more fun.
My favorite zone is where i am right now with my Druid Mayrayah. Thats Eastern Plaguelands. Having Dugis guide has made wow fun again. Wow di an awesome job adding interesting content and storyline. riding with Fioras caravan is a cool addition that one would have to have dugies guide to get the most entertainment out of it instead of a frustrated “what do i do next”
For me, it has to be the original Stranglethorn Vale. It was awe inspiring, after questing in gloomy Darkshire, running south and entering this lush, colorful and vibrant landscape. It just popped as the gloom faded and the screen lit up with color! And the questing! On the way to 60(max at the time), SV was rated as a lvl 30-45 area, so you could literally level a full 1/4 of max there, and it never got boring! The variety of quests, from the Rebel Camp to Nesingwary’s Camp to Booty Bay, kept the entire area fresh and interesting the whole way through.
As far as the new Cata zones go, I kinda like Gilneas, the Worgen starting area. The story line and quests there are all very entertaining and fresh, compared to the other starting zones, imo. I think the many people that paid for race changes to make their higher lvl toons Worgen really missed out by skipping this starting zone.
My favorite zone would probalby be the SHadowfang dungeon because its long and since im a warlock their was a lv 40 quest that went along with it i think. Also I liked the final boss.
My favorite zone, my favorite zone…
(cue the wavy “flashback” movie effect)
The Starting Zone – any starting zone, *every* starting zone. 🙂
When I first started playing, way back pre-BC, I got my first toon (Tauren Hunter) up to where I could go to Thunder Bluff, where I saw an array of races and classes that made me want one of everything available.
After that I spent more time rolling the Orc Rogue, Undead Mage, Troll Shammy, Night Elf Druid… you get the idea.
🙂
Each starting zone was just like discovering the game all over again, they’re all so different from each other, all new mobs, all new lore – And then, just as I start to run out of newness, woot!! along come the Draenei and the Blood Elfs!!!
Of course, getting the levelflash every 10 minutes didn’t hurt either… FlashWooosh!!! And once I got up into the 40s and grinding got tiresome, there was always a new race/class combo to roll, and return to the gentler days of my youth, skipping around picking flowers and one-shotting chipmunks.
I drop in on the noobs from time to time, handing out potions and lowbie items and reminiscing about the good ol’ days.
Even my favorite part of Cataclysm is all the new starting zones. That Worgen zone is a work of art.
^_^
my favorite 1 – 60 zone would be Eastern Plaugelands cause of the diversity of the zone. It has lots of quests and things to kill plus on the good side lots of pvp action as thats where most people level from 55 onwards. The storyline is great and if you have a DK the storyline intensifies with the battlefront taking place there. Overall EPL is the best designed and playable zone in WoW and the wow team have only made it better in Cata
the barrens because the horde can get back at the allince for ganking us at cross roads andd the big spilt in the middle looks kool
