Has to be Westfall , i feel it is one of the areas in cataclysm that changed the most. I always had a blast questing there no matter how many times i did it on a toon. Now that its changed theres many new things it has to offer. Plus not to mention you get a westfall chicken!

My favorite zone would be the new Golblin starting zone. It is the most fun with so many different quests to do and I just love the little car and my homie friends I picked up along the way. And the Goblin’s are almost as cute as the Gnomes.

My favorite Zone has always been redridge, seems like I have spent the most time there lvling characters up getting to know where everything is and all the different things to do there.

I will always have a nostalgic love for Teldrassil and Darnassus. It was my first character and that place had such a mysticism about it, I knew this was the game I could play forever. But it wasn’t until I began to play my gnome warlock that I found Dun Morogh that I truly found the humor of the developers. I must have sat through the quest “Ammo for Rumbleshot” probably on everyone one of my characters (Alliance) just to sit and watch the skit. Then it was the weird realization that Blizzard quest developers had an odd interest in animal poop. As I dug through poop for keys and microfilm. Just make me laugh that much more. Though I have to say that now in my reminiscing of the old areas and recently the new Gilneas. Whether is the majesty of Kalimdor or the Humor of Eastern Kingdoms, or the storyline of Gilneas, each area had its beauty and luster to make each character a new adventure.

Even as I progressed through Outland and Northrend, I would revel at the fun and adventure of each area. Pick one favorite? I just am not sure I can do that. Each area brings back true fondness and even a fond aggravation.

PS. I will say if there is ever a contest for an zone that I hated, I can easily pick out Duskwood. While I enjoyed the storyline, the ambiance and the character interaction… until they put in the new flypoints, I simply HATED the back and forth from one end of the map to the other OVER AND FREAKING OVER!!! 🙂

Good luck to all the contestants!

My favorite 1-60 zone would have to be Silverpine Forest. I like it the best, because a large amount of The Forsaken lore is revealed here. I enjoy seeing the Horde’s side of the battle against Gilneas. This is also as great place to level all your Horde reputations.

I have to say that Stonetalon Mountains, now that they’ve revamped it is my favorite. I might be biased though. This is because I was able to gank an alliance player three levels above me due to a quest objective that gives you infrared goggles so you can see the alliance npc’s that are stealthed. I don’t know if this was meant to happen but I was able to see the alliance druid who was stealthed in cat form. He’d already killed me once and since I am also a druid it was easy to stealth up behind him, ravage claw rake.. and he was dead. I had tons of fun killing him over and over (3 times total). He probably couldn’t figure out how I was able to see him. *snickers*.

My favorite zone is thunder bluff because of the scenery and the wide open spaces. I am very interested in tauren druids and this is the starting area.

I would have to say that I Worgen starting area of Gilneas. This was the first starting zone I actually enjoyed questing inside. Do not get me wrong here, I do have a high level toon and leveled all my characters out of the starting zones in WTLK so I have not really seen the new starting zones. Gilneas has a great flowing story and is just a wonderfully done zone in both gameplay and graphics. Blizzard did their homework here. I like the way that your progression through the zone is linear. I also like the way Blizzard uses the Phased starting area to tell you the unique story of the Worgens. The starting zones of the other races are really kind of “Blah, lets just do some **** to get you up high enough in level to move on.” I cannot speak for them in Cata though as I have only had the chance to level a Worgen, Gnome, and a Goblen through the revamped starting areas. These are all nicely done.

My favorite zone in the 1-60 area would definently be Tanaris. I believe that many people will look at this question as the zone they liked the quests in most. I, however, looked it as the zone i liked to spend time in. Tanaris, although mostly desert, is one of the most beatiful zones in old world Azeroth. The beach is beatiful during the day time and while i was in the desert in game, i actually felt like it in real life. I guess I just connected (if one could) to this zone since i stepped foot in it. And you truely haven’t experienced Azeroth until you have seen Tanaris during the night. It is truely breath taking. Plus, Tanaris contains one of my favorite locations in W.O.W., The Caverns of Time. I also enjoyed the Valley of the Watchers with the great Uldum gate. So all of these aesthetically pleasing things factor in my love for Tanaris.

It has to be the redridge area i love the new queats there they are awsome.I also love the underwater world it is loads of fun to ride a seahorse:)

My favorite zone is by far Ashenvale. I love it because every time I go there I am reminded of my Vanilla days. I spent weeks there exploring and questing. To this day, when I hear the music I reminisce. The music, atmosphere and quest lines were/are great. Even since the revamp, it is still my favorite.

Now as for dungeons, that’s easy. Scholomance by far. No competition there. I love it for the same reasons I love Ashenvale. The memories of Vanilla. I must have ran that **** dungeon 1000 times just to get my Helm of Valor. Knew it like the back of my hands… Now that they changed it, it still rocks. Not near as much fun as it used to be in Vanilla but, meh, the game has to move on, just like everything else.

I mean it’s easy 😀 it’s the Worgen starting place 😀 i love how the new quests arent just go and kill 20 demons..
I love how they have made them so much fun 🙂

I love the Redridge Mountains. This was the first zone “away from home” and it felt like I was really starting an epic adventure. It was also the first zone to really challenge me to improve my mage skills. You never forget your first Polymorph!

Actually, I always enjoyed the initial start zones and the first couple of areas following them. When I was a real novice to the game, I can remember the game seermed intimidating at times, but the start zones like the valley of trials did a great job of helping to orient new players to the game mode.
As I played, it was easy to see what the concept was building to. The initial zones did and do a good job I think of easing players into the whole game mode.

Hands down, it is Azuremyst Isle. The first toon I ever created was a Dranei, and I was really young playing on my cousin’s account. The whole game of WoW was just mystifying and I thought it was the biggest game in the world. I have the fondest of memories making my little level 3 Dranei try to kill level 15 beasts and die, while my cousin hovered over me. It may be a little bit sentimental and not because of the quests, but I have to say that that really began my gaming experience.

My favourite has to be Teldrassil. This is where my first character was created. I was a latecomer to WoW at 56 so had a lot of learning to do. There is some very haunting music in that start zone which i love. I am a huge fan of questing and have Loremaster on 2 characters and will have on 3rd shortly

My favorite zone is diffently Gilneas. Starting as a worgen and then experiencing all of the phasing, the story line and what i feel like a very friendly introduction to World of Warcraft. Every NPC seems like they got a story to tell and that Blizzard (as kind as they have been) have put in some nice new voices for the NPCs just makes it a whole lot more fun to just click on them to hear what they say (who will forget “Get gabbing or get going”?).
Everytime i have started a worgen (which is quiet a few times now) it have been a very nice ride from the start to the end. They intruduce you to a lot of different mechanics throughtout the quests, some seemed a bit wierd at first, but when you have learned what was what, it seems like it got a whole lot easier (and in some cases just very fun to see the Abominations having a barrel on they head)
That my ex can start a worgen and get through the start quests is very nice and says something about the way you play in Gilneas. She started playing a little over half a year ago, but that doesn’t mean that she have learned to play it like most other persons 😛

I would recommend Gilneas to everyone that asks “hey! im not very good at leveling, i want to get through the starting zone as fast as i can, but still see some changes and a story which makes me wanna start over again”

my favourite area is hellfire as it is the first where you can get tough quests and the first need to start grouping for good to get good items. the Dugis Guides makes finding the quests to do and the order much simplerndou can literally fly through the levels and fun quests

I decided to try WOW about 3 years ago & I’m probably one of the oldest players in the game (respect your elders children). I started as a Night Elf Hunter & didn’t know how to do anything, but Darnassus had the most incredible environment i didn’t mind wandering around exploring & trying to figure out what I was supposed to do next. I was all the way into Outland before anyone told me I should change my hearth from Darnassus to Shattrath. LOL Because of the fond memories, Teledrassil is my favorite zone.

    • Stommen

I think that Darkshore is my favorite area. It has several quest chains that take you north and south and made me really appreciate the need for some help. I got lost twice and heard about addons from others. I stumbled onto Dugi Guides by accident and made me try a new charater to level up from the start. That decision to get the guide had made playing WOW much more fun, entertaning, and enjoyable
