my favorite 1-60 zone would be Un’Goro Crater the leveling here was great and at this level you had quite some desert areas behind you. Then all of a sudden when you ride trough a desert there is a rainforest. It also had some nice mobs that were very different from each other

I think my favorite will always be Teldrassil (my first starting zone ^-^). When I first started playing WoW, I decided to roll a night elf because they intrigued me the most, and after seeing the starting area, I was glad I choose them xD. I always loved the lush, mystical/mysterious forest vibe it has, and it was easy to get around in, and being on an island, I never had to worry about accidentally stumbling upon an area that was too high level for me. The quest there are fun and straight forward. Teldrassil hasn’t changed much after Cata (quest wise) and only has a few visual changes (which are mainly just in Ru’thean Village), which I’m actually thankful for. It’s nice that some places will stay the same, especially when its my first starter zone ever. (Ah! this is nerdy isn’t it? Getting sentimental over a zone in a game?)
But yeah, Teldrassil will always be my favorite. Lots of memories there ^-^

My favourite dungeon was Upper Blackrock Spire. As my first character was an Orc Warrior, I remember still improving my tanking skills while trying that tough dungeon. I also remember my jubilation when looting that final boss to earn my top level shield.

Deadmines was always my favorite 🙂
As for the favorite zone is also around Deadmines because of the story line 🙂

All of the zones offer something unique, so to pick my special one is almost impossible, but my fondest memories are from levelling in Winterspring everything seemed so clean and well presented, I will always look at that section with fondest memories

      TY:)

Im going to have too say onyxia’s lair from classic because that was my first raiding experience on warcraft with the friends that got, me started in the first place and I had fun it was just the, best time ever had youd walking into the dungeon that first time getring that adrenaline rush when fighting that boss not knowing what got do.it was exciting for met that first time and it remains ino my mind today as my beat days on warcraft in my favorite vanilla area.

For me, it would have to be Silverpine forest. i loved the original feel of the place, and after cataclysm, there has been a major revamp of the area. The story line is amazing, with the conflict between first Sylvanas and Garrosh, and then how the whole Worgen/Forsaken plays out. It seems to have most character and the most shocking events and storylines happen. The fact that you learn that the Forsaken have now found a way to “reproduce” and how they are that one step closer to be being pure evil is awesome.

      Thanks
      Ash

I would have to say that Stratholme was my favorite dungeon. I remember my first trip inside. Seeing the city burning, and looking a the debris in the air, along with the smoke gave me a general feeling of foreboding as we worked our way through the undead masses.
The quests were decent and pretty challenging. I also loved how it was split into 2 sections (Live and Dead side) so you felt like you were really witnessing the plight of a city under siege.

My favorite 1-60 zone would have to be the barrens. It is my favorite zone due to the awesome quest and story it has within it. Also the best possible part of it would have to be cross roads chat. There are many funny jokes but also tons of trolls. There are just too many fond memories of the barrens i can’t exactly decide which one is my favorite.

my favorite 1-60 zone would be Temple of Atal’Hakkar (aka sunken temple) i really liked the story behind it and the mix of mobs that lived there. also the skinning was great!

This was a tough one for me but honestly Blackwing Lair. I know it’s a raid instance and not so much a particular zone but the buildup towards the final encounter with Nefarian didn’t just take place within the lair itself. The start of all the madness that engulfed the ***** Dragonflight that enamored players in both Lower and Upper Blackrock Spire started weaving a brilliant tapestry that was so amazing. The beginning of the instance provided an initial challenge to most all raid groups with Vael being a truly monumental test for most guilds to even get past. The rest of the bosses were all memorable in their own way especially Chromaggus. Tearing our way through BWL and savoring each and every subsequent victory was nothing compared to the sheer scale that Nefarian’s fight had at the time. This was before Blizzard really polished their cinematic flair in regards to raid encounters and, by today’s standards, the fight is quite tame, but my memories of it are so fond. My best moment in my years of playing the game (Started as a paladin in Beta, then rolled Hunter on release) had to be when I finally got the last piece of Tier 2 armor. Full Dragonstalker! I leaped out of my chair and started dancing much like my green-skinned counterpart in game. So, my vote goes to Blackwing Lair for sure.

My favorite place when all we could do was vanilla WoW was Un’Goro Crater. I was shocked when I went down this ramp out of a desert into a lush rain forest. I was also promptly killed by an elite dinosaur. I just could not believe this was here, I never got a quest to go there, I found it on accident. But my favorite dungeon was Ragefire Chasm because I was alliance and half the fun was getting to it. I died like 50 times trying to get in there. Those were fun times way back in the beggining. I hope others were just as awed as I was, at the whole World of Warcraft story unfolding before our very eyes.

Stranglethorn Vale. Before Cata, I liked this area because it provided a number of pets that my main character, Kuriang, trained and used far beyond level 40. Now this area’s level requirement has been reduced, but the hunting quests are still around that introduce you to Nesingwary, which you will encounter again in the Outlands and also in Northrend.

It really is hard to choose, but if I had to I would choose the Ghostlands. Why? Because this zone has never become boring to me. It was one of the first zones I went to when I started playing wow and I always loved the feel of this zone. Running around trying to keep track of where Knucklerot and Luzran are… in my opinion it just added to the feel of the zone. Then having that one person yell out in the chat LFG Knucklerot and Luzran and not getting just a few people but a whole bunch, man I loved the moments like that so much fun to watch them die >:)… unfortunately they do not happen as often anymore but I still believe it is a really cool zone.

Duskwood was always my favourite levelling place in the old vanilla wow. As soon as you crossed the bridge from Redridge there was no turning back. The atmosphere was spooky – spiders, wolfs, skeletons and worgen around every bend. There was an epic quest line that took you back to Stormwind, Westfall and Elywnn Forest. I will never forget farming wolves to 20 silver for a cape I had to have from the blacksmith in Duskwood. If you got lucky you beat everyone to the goblin with rare recipes, if you got unlucky the monstrosety from the graveyard killed you and 15 other players on the road.

      The Barrens-
I pick ‘The Barrens’ as my most favorite and memorable 1-60 zone in history of World of Warcraft. I picked this zone primarily because I have been playing World of Warcraft since, estimated a year, before Burning Crusade came out. I have always played Alliance, and the same character as my main on top of that, but I remember leveling new characters to make ‘Twinks’ out of back when ‘Twinks’ were what you did for fun most the time. I can remember having a blast fighting my way the the Warsong Gultch vendor in The Barrens just outside of Ashenvale, and attacking the guards, or killing some low levels flagged at Crossroads on my way there to get the next item for my level. I also remember loving going to Rachet on my old Rogue, and waiting for the first Horde to run up and be my next target, away from the guards of course. Most of all i pick this place because of the old, “The Dreaded Barrens Chat”. Any Vanilla original World of Warcraft player, can remember The Barrens Chat… CHUCK NORRIS! Whether you were Horde, or you were Alliance, you could go there to see the most stupidest and hilarious jokes and comments on World of Warcraft, I can even remember Jinx creating a shirt saying on it, “I Survived Barrens Chat”.
In basis The old Barrens, before Cataclysm, will always remind me of back when World of Warcraft was really fun, Twinks, jokes, and world pvp.

I would have to choose old school ZG. Some of my fondest memories are in that place. When I was in a previous guild (at level 60), we spent countless hours in there learning all of the fights and having a good ‘ol time. Lots of laughs(durring the night) and cheers (when we killed a boss) filled the raid, and stuck with me through the years. Most of the people have stopped playing since then, but I will never forget the great times. That is why zul’gurub is and will always be my favorite place. I’m kinda glad blizzard is redoing the instance. it means i get to go back in and relive my fond past. Thank you and good luck to everyone else.

My favourite zone would probably be duskwood. i still remember the first time i went in there. since i started off as a human, i mostly quested in westfall and elwynn forest but duskwood really caught my attention because of the dark evil atmosphere to it. the most awsome experience was finding out the emerald dream portal. i was actually stunned that it looked so full of life in duskwood……….and i remember getting killed by the dragon because i was like only lvl 20 or so XD

    • Shamzam

I would say the night elf starting zone, because that is the first time playing wow, but this time was memorable becUse this was the first time i was using a in game wow guide, the guide’s name was Dugi Wow Guides and i managed to get to lv 31 with the trial than i rolled a shamaman when i got TBC.

My favorite 1-60 zone or instance would have to be hands down Thunderbluff or Mulgore. Being part Navajo in real life I can relate to the Tauren alot. The music was great, and the quests were fun even though a pain due to some being spread so far apart….. I’m looking at you Swoop Hunting!.
