I like stranglethorn vale. I like all the hunting quests there and I really like the way they change the layout of the land in cataclysm. As far as dungeons go I always did like Scarlet Monastery. It was an easy dungeon to get through and there was always a good drop of cloth there for my tailor.

My absolute favourite 1-60 area has to be Slithus, mostly for the mighty Ahn’Qiraj. If you were one of the people lucky enough to see it open, it is one of the most epic and memorable wow moments to this day, even compared to all the expansions (Just you-tube ‘the opening of Ahn’Qiraj’ and you will see just how epic it really was! Slithus also had a unique pvp option which has never been rivalled.

My favorite 1 – 60 zone would have to be Ghostlands. This is because nothing has really changed since cataclysm so it is as beautiful and as fun as ever. I also like how Tranquillien is the easiest rep to get to exalted as every quest grants 1000 rep so i always liked how quick the achievement “somebody likes me” was to get. Towards the end of the zone you can also get usually your first blue quality item from a quest which is very good for its level. Apart from the blue quality item you can get, you can also get other rewards from quests which unlike the barrens or silverpine forest, actually is good for your class.

As a bloodelf used to be the only horde paladin and still are a widely used paladin, ghostlands is good because it contains nearly only undead, so towards the end of the zone when you get exorcism at level 18 leveling will never be easier as you can probably 1 hit everything with the constant crits of exorcism.

It is also a very small area with lots of quests around making there a lot less traveling and a lot more leveling making this a desired place for most low levels.

It is also a very beautiful place with mobs and fun quest lines which make leveling never more fun and exciting

well this is why i think ghostlands is the best 1 – 60 zone

My favorite 1-60 zone was Hillsbrad Foothills. The quests were cool, but I loved raiding Tauren Mill on my allaince toon and Southshore on my horde toon. My guild and I would always go destroy one of the towns. We even made a YouTube video of us there. It was alot of fun back in the day.

I really like Northern Stranglethorn. The lush tropical backdrop made a great place to go on the big game hunts with the Hemet Nesingwary gang. Being relatively new to WOW when I did this zone, it was really nice that the hunts were able to be turned in and continued while out doing them rather than having to run back between each section. This interactive questing feature really made me enjoy the game that much more and led me to stick with it. The creatures were great to hunt as well with really nice details. What really made it extra nice is that I was able to go “hunting” with my son who also plays and with his hunter was able to get some really nice combat pets.

I love Silverpine forest for the whole Worgen vs. Undead theme. It’s a great parallel to the whole werewolves vs. vampires thing without being a boring carbon copy. I also think it’s funny that a worgen-race character can be “changed” into a worgen in some of the quests.

I seem to really enjoy the new bootybay! the story line and the invasions. it seems so nice and how everryone hesitates to kill the cow…lol (if you know what i mean)

    • Mix0r

personally i loved silithus, back in the day the pvp was intense and it was an attempt at making a zone quest which benefited the entire faction which managed to get it done. it was also one of the end zone’s in vanilla and it had the feel of things to come from future expansions with “end of the world” quest lines, loved every bit of it even getting ganked groups who fear to travel alone, gave me one more of a reason to get into wow and i wish it got more love in cata

My favorite 1-60 Dungeon has to be Dire Maul. It was the first place I had ever gotten a Dungeon dropped pattern and the three part break up of the dungeon made it feel like accomplishing the greatest feat ever. Glad to see you are ok after the earthquake there , hope all is well.

My favorite zone is probably Un’goro Crater. I like it because the questing is really fun and doesn’t get boring. Most of the quests are (or seem to be) unique and are really fun to do.

    • Wiggo

I loved Loch Modan. For me, it was the first “game change” zone and it just blew me away. Before that, everything was cold, white, and snowy and even though I thought it was the perfect site for my little dwarf, I was instantly drawn into the Loch’s rolling hills and lake. I saw my first Horde characters there, and I didn’t have guides to point me where to go, so when I stumbled onto the hunter’s lodge and it’s quests it was all me and my adventuring little Wiggo. I still like to run in and kill Ol’ Sooty from time to time.

So Far my favorite zone is Stormwind City, and the main reason is the addition of a bank and Auction House in the Dwarven District. There are dailies to be had, all your trainers are there and because you can now fly around the city, man what is not to like. Plus my first toon was a human warrior, so this is where I started my WoW experience.

I love the Goblin start zone, the Keezan Islands. Its because the Questlines are very funny, I loved the quest where you have to pick up your friends with the “Hot Rod”. Also I love, how it fits into the other quests to the new zones, remember the zeppelin goes down, and as a goblin you have to free Thrall, and then you meet him on top of the maelstrom.

The look and feel of the zone is perfect, too. With the technically city, the Instacity and all this technical things, remember the quests, where you have to use your belt specials? I love them! And how you get to the Horde, its a lovely storyline, its funny, dramatic sometimes and special in their very own way.

I have always liked elwynn forest because as the human starting zone you get to interact with a plethera of both critters and characters you might wander into. Try stepping on a rabbit, or bein bit in the butt by a level two wolf, snuck up on by a defilas cutpurse on a bad day, chased by a mean pig or scared out of your wits by a screaming murloc cuz your sound volume is up to high. Jumping from the sound of people fishing at thunder falls, murdered by an obnixious goblin while enjoying a day of fishing on the dock Jerod’s landing, bashing rats in the fargodeep mine, getting lost in the echo ridge mine, trying to find wood amongst the bears and wolves in the eastvale logging camp, pickin weeds while running from murlocs along the edge of stone cairn lake, and capping off your adventures in elwynn with the assult on Hogger! The greatest level one raid ever in vanilla!!!

I really enjoyed the quests in Silverpine Forest. I liked the storyline for the Horde. It was fun to play and learn some of the lore behind some characters.

    • JasmineStar

My favorite area is the starting zone of the Blood Elves. That zone just sticks in my mind.

The most recent questing zone that I enjoyed has to be the globin starting area. The mood of it is just so different than anything I have ever played in WoW. The quests are funny and there’s no way you can take them seriously which in my opionion. Even though this was my best recently played questing area, my favorite areas of all time is the starting area of the dwarf and old gnomes. I have never gotten very far on WoW because I would always get board of the class I was playing and start up another so fartherest I have ever made it was level 37. For this reason most of World of Warcraft is mostly a mystery to me and the best zone I have ever liked was the old starting zone of the gnomes. The first character I have ever created was a gnome (back during WotLk) and absolutely loved the experience that the game gave. As it was my first area to explore in WoW and truely be wowed it has still holds a the special place in my heart as the best leveling zone.

My favorite area is Netherstorm, as it seems to have less population, and therefore more to harvest for farming.

It’s eastern plaguelands for me. i joined just at the launch of burning crusade.i remember going there when i was about level 40 and strolling along from the chillwind camp up the road.i was looking around thinking how different it all was from everywhere else i’d seen.i looked at the lake, then i saw the town, so i thought i’d stroll on down n take a look……. suddenly i see all these mobs running towards me with their arms swinging away like speed skaters, and i just pooped myself! i turned n ran in my completely nooby first toon kind of way.needless to say, they quickly caught up and slapped me!i just thought to myself,”alright,it’s on.you just ****** wait mate.i’m gonna come back here n have you.”and that was it.i did go back and i did have em lol!i also stayed and did the whole quest chain and went to outland late, but i enjoyed it sooooo much.i also thought it was such a shame that most people were just missing the area after doing a few quests in order to get to outland.should be called epic plaguelands.

    • Danny Groveman

My favorite is Sholazar Basin, since it provides a good place to harvest leather, herbs, and also has good fishing areas.
