OK — echoing the comment above — the Worgen starting zone is absolutely amazing — the best integration of story line and lore with initial character creation and leveling that I’ve seen in the 5 1/2 years I’ve been playing. Blizzard quest design has advanced light years with this zone — even when you’re really just killing boars or gathering wood, you never feel like that — you have a sense of urgency and purpose the entire time. You come out wanting to kill the Horde bastards — even if you’re normally a Horde player, which is a real testament to the power of the story. Nice job on the guides, btw, Dugi.

I think that MY favorite zone would have to be either gilneas (for the dramatic storyline) or kezan (for the dramatic lack of storyline :D) i also love how westfall introduces all the bosses to the deadmines, and i feel like im in some csi show. so yes, westfall is my favorite

The Broken Hall /The Temple of Atal’Hakkar (lvl 53-55)

Nice area with some swimming stuff/ nice walls/ and puzzle

My favorite zone has got to be the new Worgen area. The way it plays out as you are a part of it’s history instead of just another person getting into the fight. The back ground history of how the area became as it is. The struggle against the horde invasion. It all adds up, at least for me, to be the best starter zone of all the races.

My favorite 1-60 zone is Dun Morogh because it was the first zone I ever started in the background music really brought the game more alive and the not knowing what to do was also a reason why I loved the place the and the snow and the texture of the enviorment I wished more zones where like this (Northrend wasn’t really much with the flying mounts…) but I mainly like this zone becuase of the snow and background music. 😀

I agree with the many postings here – all the zones are awesome. I especially like two of them Winterspring & Dun Morogh. I have the maximum number of toons to play all zones for both the Alliance and Horde…I have to say that Dugi’s Guide makes it possible for me to enjoy the game to fullest. Thanks Dugi!!!!

My favorite zone by far is molten core. This is the very zone where my WoW career started to go downhill. You are probably wondering, why does this dude love the dungeon that messed up his WoW playing?! The answer is simple. Before I entered this zone, I was almost totally addicted to WoW. After I made the mistake of ninja’ing an item, I was kicked from my guild, the best on my server. I went back to my old guild, and found out that after months of playing since Cata released, they still weren’t raiding on the new Cata raids. This saddened me, and I began to play WoW less and less. Now I have completely broken Blizzard’s hold on my life. Thank you, Molten Core, for breaking my WoW addiction.

That is why I love Molten Core.

For horde i will say Arathi Highlands its here where i meet some real nice folks who helped me out and still have contact with we quested togheter and that was fun. For Alliance i go for duskwood it has lots of special quest lines and at the graveyard you can do several quest in one time, really cool place too with the village and storylines.

Tough call as I enjoyed so many zones for different reasons. I’m going to settle on Winterspring (50-55) for now as I liked the varied quests for their entertainment as well as leveling. It had a great mix of creatures and humanoids with varied talents and as a skinner, leveling that profession in tandem was just icing on the cake (as well as gold in the bank thanks to the great patrons in AH).

You guys picked a great question to throw at us…. Can’t be a right or wrong answer; all right ones with as many reasons as players. Keep up all your great work in helping us do what we do…. and by helping us squeeze in a little more fun into each hour we’re in game.

Without a doubt my favorite zone is Dun Morogh. I love working for the dwarfs and gnomes. The gadgets and gizmos they are trying to create are quite hysterical and I love trying to help them achieve their manical ends! Dun Morogoth feels like home to me as I love the cold. Since I bought Dugi’s leveling guide all the zones are more enjoyable. I used to get frustrated running around in circles in a zone, so much so that the zone became an unbearable bore. With Dugi’s guide I get to enjoy each zone in a timely manner and feel like I am making progress. Wow suddenly became like fresh and brand new with Dugi’s Guide. Really I almost gave up on WOW, I was so bored without making any progress that for about 8 months I was down to playing like one or two times a week, maybe an hour or less at a time. I found Dugi’s Guide online and, BOOM, I’m back to enjoying the game to the point that I can’t wait to play it! Blizzard should give the Dugi people millions of dollars to include the guides with WOW because Dugi takes WOW to a whole new level of enjoyment!!!

my favorite map is ashenvale, i loved the whole forest theme and the variety of monsters that were in the area, i remember the old days running into bough shadow and being destryoed by the green dragon flight that was there. this was also my first time coming in contact with an enemy faction member(did not go well for me). when i finally reached high enough level to leave i was upset cause no place was anywhere near as much fun

I don’t have one special zone, but i like the way the questlines are redesigned. Full of humor and challenging quests. It has become more of a storyline than “kill 20 of x and kill 30 of y” in every zone. I think Blizzard did that well.
Anyway, now that i think of it…i liked the Eastern Plaquelands because of the “out of space” experience i get there. It feels like i’m on another planet when i do stuff there.
Compliments to Dugi and the staff to make a very good guide of this.

I would say my favorite is 1-60 is Burning steps. I like the way everything is on fire. And that you feel like you are in the desert. You get the feeling that you are the only one there. And the monters that are out there are cool too.

    • Gontro

My favorite zone most be old Barrens becus all was chatting ther and i love Wc and the entrens is ther so what not to love the only thing i dident like ther was the harppy quest

    • Shane

I have to say my favorite lvl 1- 60 zone is Redridge Mountions. The way it was upgraded is really cool, not to mention the story line is very fun and nice. It also sets up the background if you quest in Burning Steps as its a continuation off of Redridge Mountain.

for alliance it would be duskwood i loved the setup and made my very first mistake that i will never forget walking into the the grove and getting killed by the outdoor raid boss in there. but it is always the place i lvl cause its fun and challenging and i love killing the undeads in the catacomb under the gy cause the respawn rate is insane haha

for horde ghostlands: great questing zone and gear love killing the abomonations and a quick way to lvl when u get in the groove of things. it helps if u have the dugi guide so u dont hand in a quest to early and realize u had a quest there u could have done and handed in.

My favorite zone is Felwood. It was the first time I ever entered a zone and wished that my toon could build a house to live in. My favorite time of the year is the fall, and halloween it’s capstone. Felwood is Halloween eternal!

My favourite zone is stranglethorn vale. I love the hunting quest line. I also love the new worgen starting zone it has a great story line.

Since Cataclysm dropped, Stonetalon Mountains has been for me, the best, most impressive storytelling outside of an instance – hands down! The developers at Blizzard have done an exceptional job recreating a classic, yet originally somewhat mediocre zone into a war-zone amongst volcanic eruptions; excellent for intense PvP action. The lore in this zone really adds to the main and sub storylines, adding to the excitement of battling your way through this zone. Kudos to Blizzard!

    • Shelly

I’m going to say my favorite is Blasted Lands, the quests move you around the zone quite well and some of the MOBs are really interesting. Love the lightning strikes, Dark portal and the Tainted Forest. I think this zone gets a bad wrap cause of the limited areas available for 55-65…, so most feel like they are forced to do them to progress. Love this zone every time I get the opportunity to do it.
