As a Warlock I really liked the blasted lands because it was where I got my last and favorite pet the Doomguard.
My favorite zone since The Shattering would be Desolace. I remember back before all the changes to the zones, the bleakness of Desolace, but since the changes, this zone has transformed into a lush zone much like the zone to the south of it, Ferelas and Desolace now seems more in sync with the zones that it is sandwiched between.
I honestly love what they did to the Plague-lands in general between the two of them Eastern Plague-lands is my favorite, the quest-line that takes you through is full of humor. The three npcs you have in the caravan at first actually have an interesting relationship, their just fun to watch go back and forth with little quick insults and reactions. Blizzard really showed their usual sense of humor there, the whole place is just fun. The battle for Darrowshire is epic, wave after, wave after wave, it seems like it’ll never end, it’s a real struggle but there’s such a sense of accomplishment when you win. Little Pamela has a cute quest that has to do with finding her doll. Later when her doll winds up in the caravan it causes a stir between Tarenar and Gidwin, every time I look at it I just have to laugh. Every trip through that place has been fun. From back on my old druid tearing up the skeletal raiders trying to grind for that last minion’s scourgestone to my shaman’s last trip through there. Nothing but fond memories of the place and plenty of fun still to be had ripping it up with the other classes.
i really enjoy the worgen zones, the ones you start in and get taken to darkshorebecause the zones are phased as you go through them and the previous zones are utterly destroyed. it kinda gives you the sense that the zones getting destroyed. makes you feel like you are in a real world, and also you ARE the worgen fighting for your life the whole time. the worgen zones kinda add an additional sense of roleplaying for the rp realms too. excellent job on dugis guides capturing that element of play.
my favorite zone is Un’Goro Crater
i like it because like how the dinos walk around the map and the quest there fit the theme of the dinos
also i like the sweet raptor u get from there
My favorite dungeon would have to be Scarlet Monestary because ever since i saw Hobbs’ power leveling videos in there i have wanted to roll a paladin! This is wat inspired me to get my paladin up as prot spec and i leveled as prot ALL the way up to 85!! I also love the ressurection mechanic of the boss in cathedral and the whirlwind effect of herod’s axe!
Hands down duskwood, it is fun easy and you get great rewards from the quest… best way to get your toons out of the 20’s
My favorite zone is the Goblin starting area, fun, fun, fun.
I fell in love with Stranglethorn Vale the first time I made me way through to Booty Bay. My first character wasn’t quite level 20 when I made that bold dash through Duskwood and down the middle of the zone to Booty Bay. I died so many times. I hadn’t learned yet that I could take a boat from Ratchet or that, since I was going to die repeatedly, taking off my gear would have been much less expensive. I was totally green to the game and created a hunter since I played a ranger in my Dungeons and Dragons days. I wanted to tame every beast in the zone, especially the beautifully dangerous great cats. I was having such fun with the leather crafting and fishing and everyone said Stranglethorn was THE place to be. I’ve come to love the myriad ruins and cultures, exploring every nook and cranny and meeting a wide array of characters in the process. With Cataclysm, my love of the zone is stronger than ever as I can unearth archeological treasures in those ruins of fought and died in while exploring. The mix of emotions at the losses and transformation of this beautiful landscape is balanced with the excitement of exploring anew.
Zangarmarsh,
For me this has been a well rounded place to explore. You can grind, quest, gather ect. You can alway use Zangarmarsh for gathering for some quick cash at vendors or auctions. Nearby Zones hold special treasures. Shat realy close to help disperse you treasures. I keep my hearthstone tuned to Telredor as my safe place. In general Outland is a fun place. Its Worthy.
A favorite Dungeon or zone thats hard I enjoyed them all, now with cat i am enjoying them again each has a mem that i think WOW ihave somuch to learn and somuch to pass on to new players that its great so to pic one is just to much i enjoy them all the same the hard the easy its fantastic when you are with a great team just running them.
I have to agree with the comments on Winterspring – just the sheer variety of mobs and quite an elaborate storyline – oft times I will skip past the quest text in my effort to plow to 85, but I tend to still read the text in WS. Throw in the beautiful landscape (calming, yet promising danger) and the endless supply of Thorium, and it’s one place I won’t skip past in the level grind.
Oh, and the Orb of Deception drop is also a great attraction 🙂
My favorite dungeon from 1-60: Deadmines. I’ve always enjoyed that place, I always take my new friends there as first dungeon, its easy to explain but difficult enough to give them experince in dungeons 101 rules and behavior, Guaranteed to hook them on dungeons!
My favorite dungeon is Stratholme since I played Wc3 I remember thinking that this area looked familiar and then I remembered that this was the area where Arthas went crazy and killed everyone. (This was before Wrath) Then wrath came out and you know what happened. Well the reason I liked Stratholme was the sheer length, I honestly hated running it but in the end I usually get a lot of drops. Although it is a lot easier to do in Cata I still think the gauntlet was some of the most stressful fun times I’ve had in WoW. and when his mount dropped it was like an early Christmas.
P.S. Getting “Piccolo of the Flaming Fire” is also a really nice reward from this dungeon. lots’o’fun to be had when waiting for a que/group is on downtime. =D
I love winterspring location in north kalimdor because the beautiful environment and story.
It has to be Deadmines. It was my first dungeon and I’ve been going back with every new toon. I love that I can experience 5 mans within an hour or two of starting a new toon.
I think my favorite zone would have to be the Stranglethorn (all Northern and Southern). I like it because how Blizzard changed it up by splitting it up into Northern and Southern Stranglethorn. It has an interesting set-up and good storyline. It also gives a feeling like you are free in a jungle and and in ruins at the same time. It also has wonderful mobs and it is also good for many professions.
I would have to say that my favorite zone is the Badlands because of the moving quest chains involving Rheastraza. I have never seen a more sad cut scene in WOW, than (Spoiler Alert) when Rhea is killed by Deathwing (End Spoiler Alert) and I have never seen a more sad tooltip than the one for the Rhea’s Last Egg trinket, namely “Take care of him for me”. Rhea will always live on in our hearts and minds. Oh and shooting troggs with a laser gun and chasing Deathwing as a giant gnome was also pretty cool. My second favorite zone is preCata Elwynn Forest because it holds so many precious memories for me. It was great to get to feel the WOW love.
My favorite dungeon from 1-60: Deadmines. I’ve always enjoyed that place, but with the cataclysm changes, it’s even more fun. Of course, the fights are a lot easier than the heroic version, but the mechanics are still there and it’s still a bit of a challenge for low levels, unlike most other low dungeons. The “Cookie” fight at the end is also pretty funny if you think about it.
my favorite area is Stranglethorn vale for its multiple quest lines and great storyline.
