I’ve always gone with what gear advisor suggested until recently. I use Pawn as well and they don’t always agree. I’m a prot pally in wotlk classic. When I try to select, say, Defense Rating, I can’t. another random weight is displayed. Also, what are the weights about? Is there a guide explaining these? I’ve used Dugi guides for over a decade and never found any in game help.

I want the weights to be like what icy-veins shows:

1. Defense to 540;
2. Stamina;
3. Block Rating;
4. Expertise;
5. Hit;
6. Dodge;
7. Parry;

   How do I make these adjustments in gear advisor?

in classic you can do it in the gear advisor section 
in retail you can do it in the gear scoring section 
make sure you hit “Apply” when you change the settings
