Grats!
The pleasure is all mine, I am glad you got this working.
You do not need a mic to use Discord.Ensure that you use the correct path from Battle.net app.Click on the Battle.net Menu (top left corner), Settings, Game Settings.
Click on World of Warcraft and then note the Install Location.Input the Battle.net Install Location inside Dugi Guides World of Warcraft Retail Install Path then add _retail_ on the end.
Ensure that you have your Forum Username and Password in their appropriate fields. (The same username and password you use to access the members area)
Click on OkaySee attached file “explorer_tq4qTeq7iK.png”Note: don’t match mine, match yoursTo proceed can you please direct message me in discord? Ozzi#9217
I’ll do my best to help you directly using discord. The new Blizzard UI has made some complications for many addons. To move the quest objective frame enter main menu (ESC), Click Edit Mode. Click on the Quest Objective frame, you can now move it where ever you’d like, you should also notice a slider, this can change the length.
I do not see your “registry image”, it’s the same as the Dugi Installer image you’ve posted earlier. Can you at least make a system restore point and then try the .reg file.
I have tested this on my laptop, on purposely preventing battle.net from running and removing the install path from the registry, rebooting then trying to update addon to get the same error. If you don’t want to run the .reg file then try using Battle.net app to Scan and Repair World of Warcraft installation, allow it to fully complete.I would like to do one thing at a time.bernadotte said:Installed the 9012 update…and now the guides doesnt work and is completely gone…hopefully it will returnhave you tried with just dugi guides enabled?
I am not exactly sure what you mean, do you mean the pathfinder achievement for BFA? that should be covered. You can find it in Achievements > Battle for Azeroth > Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder, Part 1 & Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder, Part 2.I don’t know how you feel about running .reg scripts but I have a .reg file that you can run that will fix this issue. The contents of the .reg script to prove there’s no malice intent.Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWOW6432NodeBlizzard EntertainmentWorld of Warcraft]
"InstallPath"="\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_retail_\"I advise to Create a restore point first.
Ensure that World of Warcraft & Dugi Guides Installer & Battle.net is not running, then run the .reg script, click Ok then Ok again.
Reboot the computer or laptop and then try clicking auto detect button within Dugi Gudies Installer again, followed with Reinstall. You may need to right click the .reg file and then click Properties, then tick the box Unblock.Clearly there’s something interfering with Dugi Installer, can you please try to add it to the Avast Exclusions list.- Open Avast and go to Menu > Settings.
- Select General > Exceptions, then click Add exception.
- Click Browse, and browse to the location where DugiGuides_1.5.3.exe is, tick the box next to DugiGuides_1.5.3.exe, then click OK and Add exception.
As for the constant scan and repair issues, 1.5.3 installer fixes this bug.
Lets focus on the present and try to resolve this together.
try disabling all addons except dugi guides
Can you check your settings and click Auto Detect PathsEnsure the paths are correct:- Retail = {Your Drive}{Your Path}World of Warcraft_retail_
- TBC = {Your Drive}{Your Path}World of Warcraft_classic_
- Classic Era = {Your Drive}{Your Path}World of Warcraft_classic_era_
- World of Warcraft launcher Path = {Your Drive}{Your Path}World of WarcraftWorld of Warcraft Launcher.exe
So, for me, since I am using a 4tb PCIe 4.0 SSD NVMe drive, my path would be H:World of Warcraft_retail_Once you sorted the location, within settings ensure that your username and password is correctly entered in their appropriate fields, then click on Okay button and see the account info. Finally try the Reinstall button. Can you please provide more information in regards to ‘poof it goes to crash’.Do you get an error message? What’s the error message? In the mean time can you please ensure that DugiGuides_1.5.3.exe is added to your security software Exceptions list.
Even if you aren’t using a third party security software like AVG, Windows comes with it’s own security software, since Windows 10 / 11 it’s called Windows Security with Windows Defender. For this you can google how to add programs to exceptions list, there are loads of guides out there that step you through this process, even for the third party software such as AVG.I did a scan online https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/6f5f0abda124b6163b283d49f169dc0d60a97ff43f8698073359fc4ec64e492d
There was one false positive, but it shouldn’t be a huge issue or responsible for this. The best thing you can do is lookup your security software’s instructions to whitelist and exclude “DugiGuides_1.5.3.exe”.It will be nightmare for me to list out all steps for all known security software.Could you please tell me what security software and the version you are using?November 8, 2022 at 10:59 pm in reply to: WOW trys to update after installing new version of Dugi’s guides #170075Download and run the 1.5.2 installer, you will be prompted to download the update, allow it. exit the 1.5.2 installer, after it’s done, delete the old 1.5.2 installer. now run the 1.5.3 installer.
