I’m excited to announce that new Gear Advisor feature is now available with the latest update of Dugi Guides. This is a free update for ALL Dugi Guides users.
The Gear Advisor feature offers:
- Automated gear suggestion based on your class, level and spec.
- Advanced weight calculation to ensure you equip the best set for DPS, Tanking or Healing
- Quest rewards suggestion to help you pick the best gear for your class & active spec
- Easy one click gear switching by using Dugi Smart Set in your equipment manager
- Upgrade value comparison displayed in tooltip.
This is called a beta release because we’re not 100% finish with it but the core feature is ready for you to use and test. We’re still working on adding more customization options and also support for PVP set after 5.3 is released.
Once it is all complete we will offer more support and release a detailed instructional video on how the feature works and how you can customize it to your advantage.

im having the same problem as Reid i have a shammy and it keeps trying to wear leather and cloth where i want the mail bonus!
I really do like your Gear Advisor. I always have a problem deciding what to use for my characters.
Hey dugi, the problem I’m having is when i’m playing my mistweaver monk, it keeps suggesting that I use cloth but I’m above level 50 so I need the 5% intellect from only wearing leather. I would love that it would only choose from your class requirement like for example dk’s should only use plate so the guide shouldn’t suggest mail armor and so on…
@Reid, work out whether with the mail bonus is actually better, because at level 50 you probably only get 10 intellect which is not very much and the better stats from cloth could outweigh the bonus.

hi when i try to play it.it just says downloading again when i press play on the dugi guide installer please help
@zachary, This will happen if the path for your World of Warcraft Launcher is incorrect.
Please follow these instruction.
1. Run the installer.
2. Open the settings menu and delete everything inside World of Warcraft Path, and World of Warcraft Path Launcher Path
3. Click ok and close the installer.
4. Load the installer again and click on the settings button.
If installer automatically detect your WoW path it should already be filled in, make sure you enter your username and password and click ok
If the installer didn’t fill in your path automatically then you will have to enter your path manually eg.
1. Right click on your world of warcraft shortcut in your desktop and select properties, under target it should display the path to your world of warcraft folder.
Windows: (your path)\World of Warcraft\
Windows: (your path)\World of Warcraft\World of Warcraft Launcher.exe
MAC: /Applications/World of Warcraft/
MAC: /Applications/World of Warcraft/World of Warcraft Launcher.app
2. After you change the path manually, close the installer and reload it. Click on the settings menu and check that the path has been changed.
3. Please check that you have the correct slashes placement \ for PC or / for MAC it is crucial that your path is entered 100% correct.
4. Make sure the path is also doesn’t start or end with “” or blank space(s)
If you’re using 1.1.0 and your path is in the settings menu is correct the installer will work, I guarantee it. If you still have problems please contact ticket support and provide as much information as you can, a screenshot of your WoW path and the path that you have entered in the settings menu is a great help.
While this seems like a decent feature and the stat weights are within range, How about setting to default off. With it defaulted on, every toon I create pops up the box before I even have a chance to arrange UI.
Another thing, Why must it pop up when I retrieve non equitable items from mail. Like money from AH sales it will pop up everytime one opens.
@Gene, we will always want it to be on by default.

I’m not sure about this, it shouldn’t ever do that. Can you post a screenshot.

How it can be deleted? I have some trouble with my RU client and that stuff
This new feature is actually changing my gear without my approval. It removed my ilvl 524 weapon and replaced it with a ilvl 506 weapon that I had in my bags. It has removed my head piece several times with one that by itself would be a little better, but by switching I lose my tier bonus. I have turned the feature off, and now it is doing it on it’s own without the pop-up window.
@Kevin, make sure you are updated to the latest version and it shouldn’t do that anymore.
For some reason my gear advisor has quit working. It shows up in settings but won’t work anymore whenever I earn new gear. Nothing is showing up. Any ideas?
At the moment, it is disabled if you these addons loaded: Armory, ArkInventory, Outfitter.
If you disable those addons the Gear Advisor will work again. We are still working on a fix for it.

I loved this adviser, especially as it takes me notable time to decide what reward to take for quest completions. I posted how much I loved it too.
I happily followed every suggestion and only seemed to have trouble when I wanted to use my fishing poles. I sold all the stuff I thought I didn’t need anymore.
Later I found out that errors had been made and I couldn’t fix them. My son does dungeons, dailies, and raids to equip my main and had spent a lot of time doing so… I cannot physically manipulate my toon well enough to do these things.
So, I feel really bad about the whole thing.

@Dugi, I use both Armory and Outfitter. I haven’t noticed any problems with armory and the gear adviser, but with Outfitter it constantly pops a message in my chat log to tell me it can’t find item locations for the Smart Set. I’ve tried deleting the Smart Set and that error goes away until I reload my UI or relog, at which point the Smart Set and the errors reappear. I’ve noticed this as recently as yesterday, and I run the Dugi Installer/Updater every day before playing.
Hopefully there will be an easy way to disable this. It tends to suggest massive downgrades as upgrades. or more specifically, anytime i get a quest drop, it wants to equip that instead of my heirlooms. Even though every stat is negative.
@Squirrel, You can disable it in the settings menu.
and there could be an item issue with your cache.
1. Make sure WoW is closed
2. delete your Cache folder in World of Warcraft\Cache
3. Load WoW
4. Type “/console reloadui”

I love this feature, but I just updated to 6.522 of the guide & it quit working for me.
What do I need to do to fix it?
@Joey Smith, it will stop working if you these addons enabled: Armory , Outfitter, ArkInventory
We’re still working on a fix so it will work better with those addons.
