Hi Everyone, I’m sorry I should have post this earlier to keep everyone updated I really only want post good news, However now I can tell you things are looking good and we should have a basic working addon within a couple of days from now. Here are some of the new stuff that we’re working that you can look forward to.
- Brand new addon with new UI – We are taking the minimalist approach that you have growned to love, focusing on functionality rather than creating UI skin that is harder to solve than the Da Vinci code. The guide will still be very small and easy to use. We are working on allowing the UI the ability to stretch the objective frame to show more than one step at a time, this can be handy so you can see what the next few steps will without opening the large guide window.
- Different Guide Categories – Guides will be separated into 3 different categories Leveling / Dailies / Events to make guide selection a lot more easier as also neater. We can also easily add more categories in the future for extra guide such as achievements.
- Auto Detect Features – Of course it will contain all the standard auto detect features, such as detecting quest accept/complete/turn in and continue to the next step automatically. Auto detect race/class and optional quest and patch 3.3 Auto Sync feature.
New Features that we will work on after the initial release.
- Show quest level information – like the addon EveryQuest we should be able to show the quest level information for each step, so you know the difficulty level of the quest as well. This will make it easier to skip quest by quest level and also color code it eg Grey / Green / Yellow / Orange / Red based on your current level.
- A Reset button for guides – should be handier than shift clicking.
- Better Daily Quest Support – will add Daily Quest ! ? icons for daily quest accept and turn-in and look into a way to better support random quest pick up and also automatically reset the Daily Guide at the end of the day.
- Chain Quest Linking support – eg. If you manually skip a quest that have lots of follow ups, the follow up quest would also be auto ticked because you won’t be able to pick them up without doing the quest that you have skipped. This would make skipping quest easier, so leveling with heirloom and recruit a friend wouldn’t be that much of a problem, you can simply tick the quest until you reach the desired level.
- Auto Translate – Automatically localized quest name, zone name, class, race tags etc so that the guide will work properly with any language. However the notes will still need to be manually translated we will need to redo our German guide and french version is already on its way.
- Ant trail – Adding a trailing Ant Trail to the map to make it easier to follow way points.
Feel free to suggest more ideas of things that you would like to see in the comment section below. Again I’m very sorry for the delay, we did have the addon ready much earlier but we decided to rebuild the addon again to make sure we won’t have anymore legal issues.

Is it possible to have additional questing and leveling areas supported? I’ve used your guide to level several characters and i would like to try leveling in other areas.
Hi,
Love the guide but levelling different toon I cant seem to update it to find the quests I’ve already completed… the guide sends me to places I dont need to be ;( Please advise
have a more specific guide based on class. I made a priest, followed the guide, and could not beat some of the quests without outside help. In addition, I found the guide doesn’t incorporate loot or new abilities into the guide. It tells the most direct rout between the quests, but I keep running out of bag space or leveling to unlock a new spell, and feel reluctant to go off the quest path to go do it. Once I go to do this stuff, It takes longer to get back.
When we can buy the new V4 guide i can’t wait beacuse i only see the gold guide xD
You’re the best
Darcozell
Hopefully by tommorow or the next day.
I have to say all bs aside, this is and always has been one of my staples in addons. I recommended this to everyone I know. I’ve purchased most of the top questing addons out there and this by far has been my favorite. One thing, and i’m sorry if its been addressed already, is that when i go to level up a toon, say 23 that i’ve not played in a while, is there a way to know what quests in the lvl’n guide that i’ve done and not have to back track to every npc to see if i have done a quest or if its available? Thx in advance and again, great great addon.
Yes! this was covered in our 3.3 quest history update you must still be using a very old version, this will be in the new addon aswell.
Dugi, since I was gone from wow awhile I am using an old version as well and it is not functioning so well with the new patch. How can I get the new version while I await your new guide? Thanks.
if you’re one of our old customer you please email me and I can help you recover your files.
Can’t wait for the update. Love quest chain linking support. Thank you. Would you consider adding auto quest accepting and auto quest turn in when there is no quest reward? Makes it all the more easy to level.
thats a good idea, we’ll see if we can add that option. Otherwise there are some addons that already exist that does this.
This is me being ‘very’ lazy and all but seen as you asked for comment and stuff, here goes…
Class Training – The guide knows all about your race and I’m pretty sure it’s possible to determine the class. My thought would be to have either a reasonably intelligent way of directing you past a class trainer as and when required. An alternative might just be to include a manual option to ‘locate class trainer’ to get directions.
Intelligent Quest Skipping – Allow for option (user setting) for automatic skipping of quests to fast track you to level 80. This could be based on several factors including (and not limited to) your current level compared to current guide level, quest difficulty, whether the quest is part of a quest chain and or whether the quest is optional etc. This would allow those levelling with heirloom gear (+10%/+20% experience) to progress quicker than without.
WoW UI Manipulation – Give the option of customising the new Objectives window. Since blizzard updated this window from being a movable and sizable floating window to be a mini-map attached static window it has caused me no end of problems. However, I beleive there are console commands that can be performed to move and resize this window but so far no addon that I am aware of has integrated this functionality.
The class training part would require a rewrite of the guide itself mostly. I think this will be a feature for Catalaysm since it will be a lot easier to do this as you only have to train once per spell/skill and they scale as you level instead of training rank 1, 2,3 etc. You normaly get a new skill every 4th level so perhaps we can add an automatic reminder every 4th level and also tell you what the skill is so you know whether its worth going to the class trainer or not.
The quest skipping part will be mostly covered with the chain quest linking, but there’s always room for improvements and it can get a bit tricky. As sometime travelling quest becomes Grey because of the distance but its still should be done to be able to accept the followings.
As for wow ui manipulation try download an addon called MoveAnything and that should cover the stuff you mentioned.
Nicole,
A minimap mod called Chinchilla will allow you to move the new blizzard tracker anywhere you would like to on your screen.
Also, if you have Fubar or an LDB Display like Chocolate Bar (Will also require Fubar2Broker) you can add Trainer_Fu which will show you when you have new skills/spells available and what they are. Also shows what skills/spells will be availabe 2 levels higher.
I have your guide and love it to pieces, however, I have been struggling with a few problems and also I have thought of ways in which you could make the guide more enjoyable.
First of all, Sometimes when I create a class eg: shaman, if I then deleted that class but created a new one eg: druid using the exact same name and same race then the shamans own quests appear in the log instead of the druids, is there anyway you can permanently reset it when you delete a class?
Also, I finished the wrathgate following your guide and was shocked to find that you had missed out on a quest I had wanted to do since I heard about it way before I began playing wow. The battle for Undercity, I would like you to somehow have an option to add on these fun quests to your quest guide. Im not bothered about levelling time, I just want to have fun while doing it. Eg: you could add some lore related quests into it or just things that people would like to see whilst leveling.
I have also seen that some of your markers for npc’s are completely wrong. Eg: General Marcus Jonathan You say he is located in stormwind harbor when I found him right near the gates of stormwind. Its a minor error but still should be accounted for.
Never the less im extremely looking forward to version4. 1 million thanks to all the staff at UltimateWoWGuide for making a truly amazing product.
will check on the first issue, we can probably set guide to automatic reset if it detects a new level 1 character with 0 experience.
make sure you report any incorrect coordinates in the bug forum.
I agree with Brandon. I also use two questhelpers to get me through quests quickly without having to read all the time. I get all the quests in an area and then watch the waypoint arrow and check my map for all the quest locations. If your guide is like this in one package and you keep it up-to-date I will buy your stuff. I use Curse.com to keep my addons up-to-date as of now. Would love to have fewer addons to keep the game at a minimum. Also, if you give suggestions as to why each class/race needs certain things and why they are the most beneficial that would help me. I am a soloer and prefer it that way so, keeping with the ability to solo and not always have to group as so often groups take so much time. What about profession waypoint locations? Where and what tends to be in certain areas. Helpful when you have to mine a bunch of Mithril, instead of running around with your head cut off searching. This is time saving to know the locations. Also, a very helpful thing, which I can’t find anymore is having the levels shown on the maps for each zone. I loved being able to quickly scroll around the map for the right level areas. Thanks so much.
Looking forward to the new release. I hope you’re going to use your own waypoint arrow and not depend on the TomTom arrow. Zygor has their own and I like the idea.
We will be using tomtom arrow for now to save time, but will add that to the list.
****** good show, never doubted you for a minute.
Hey Dugi & Team,
this looks wonderful! Great stuff!
I might have missed that in your comments, but what I would love to see is a way of tracking down undone quests in a certain area. You know the kind of all available Quests thrown in a category an then filtered out what’s still open.
For those like me who are going back at level 80 to complete quests for the Loremaster and stuff.
Have I missed that? Or would that be offgoal?
(I heard there are Add Ons for that, as you seem to be able to track finished Quests now. But I am rather un-informed and clueless.)
Big thumbs up on all the great ideas there!
Looking forward to it.
Also from the other side of the World.
Switzerland! ^_^
Download the addons called Everyquest, Handynotes, Everyquest_QuestGivers to get your Loremaster achievement for now. With the combination of Blizzard Quest Tracker its pretty easy now.
We didn’t cover all the quests in Azeroth but in Outlands and Northrend we have covered almost every single quest in each zone. In Catalysm we will likely cover every single zone for 1-60 as I’m sure Blizzard would designed the questing to be much more smoother than the original Azeroth.
Hi Dugi and Team
I´ll know u guys doing a god job. We are waiting for something special as usual when it come from Dugi´s. Take care u guys.
From the ohter side of the World.
Sweden…
One idea that i had was actually based off how i used to level before i had even heard of dugi’s guide…
previously i used a combination of quest helper/ quest guru (for quest log management) and/ lightheaded to know what the **** i’m doing if i’m not just killing 6-8-12 ish number of mobs to get to the next objective (i didn’t like to read the entire quest to figure out where i needed to go to know what to do and who to do it to, kill/poison/gather etc…)
TLDR Make the Addon “Lightheaded” compatible with the new guide or rather the forums here at UWG readable from the new addon so if someone has a faster easier way to complete a quest (I.E. stand on top of this rock or behind this wall because as of 3/12/10 it’s bugged and you can -action- from there without aggroing any mobs)
=D
@BullHanGaR,
How can you get “stuck” in a level 70+ area when you’re only 40-50? You’d have to go to Northrend and EVERYONE knows Northrend is lvl 70+ The guide has never had anything in it to point you to an area that far above your character’s lvl. As for not knowing where to go, Dave’s always suggested using tom-tom for that. The guide automatically gives tom-tom the right coords to go to, and you can’t pass thru Northrend to get to a lvl 50 quest. Go be a troll somewhere else.
STop being a moron.
I said i was stuck in a lvl 70+ place because the guide Didten SHOW me where to go. it just gave me the Tomtom Arrow To point in the direction i was going. and BOOM slayed 392 times within a week.
This is an obvious lie like the other responder pointed out.
You said (quote from YOUR post)
Sometime i get stuck in a lvl 70+ area. and im only lvl 40-50.
There is no possible way this can happen EVER.
You, my friend, have been busted for trying to make Dugi look bad when you OBVIOUSLY do not even play the game.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to get stuck in a level 70+ area using the guide when you are level 40-50
Argue all you want but IF you are following the guide it simply is not possible at all.
I’m sure there must be a misunderstanding somewhere.
There have been times when the guide has put the waypoint in a random spot that has nothing, when I already know that it couldn’t be there. I was in the belf starting area with an alt, It told me that a quest that I know is in the ruins of sivlermoon was in the middle of eversong!
Very good news about this new addon, will you also provide LDB support for your new guides? I’m used to see the quests in my broker bar, it’s even more minimalistic 🙂 and hope to see this with the new guides as well.
Keep up the good work!
Christof
Thank you for the suggestion, will definately add that to the list.
Hi Dugi,
Agree with the chain quest idea – but can you add keep this item till you go to levle *** in area. A couple of times I have thrown stuff out then needed it later.
Otherwise a great guide.
I am now being directed into Blackrock which seems way to tough unless I get a group together – I tought leveling with a guide was about soloing as party just slows things up.
Another nice feature would be quest chain information. IE what previous quests are required to complete. I have had several instances where I had skipped previous quests and had to backtrack to complete.
Looking forward to the new Dugi Guide
thanks!
Dugi and Crew,
Good work. It sounds like you got a handle on the new UI. Can’t wait to download and install. You have dealt with all the negative posts very well, and like the true professionals you are.
Tah Dah
Brad
I dont see the problems in this 😀 hehe ok y i do.
Well. i think u guys are making an EPIC Step To the kingdom :d
i like this guide alote. But it Fails me when i need to know where to go. it only says yards. xx.xxLenght xx.xx!!!
I dont know where that is.
Sometime i get stuck in a lvl 70+ area. and im only lvl 40-50. So i got some problems in that area.
Couldt u guys PLZ. make a Follow up on this 😀
So i dont have to die like 392 times befor i get to the right place.
